Guest Designer: The Lovely Rhi

My friend Rhi asked me if I would be interested in a photo swap. I would scrap her photos and she would scrap mine. Knowing how gorgeous Rhi's scrapping style is, I jumped at the chance of having her scrap pictures of my little girlies! Here is what she came up with:

Needless to say, I was THRILLED by how she scrapped my cuties! Just look at the fine detailing of her doodling; the craftmanship of the beautiful rainbow and heart; her handwritten title! Look at the sweet tags she made with the leftover pictures! My girls were wild over her designs! Rhi is incredibly talented and I am so appreciative of her free artistic style...so wonderful!

I created a page for Rhi that I am not at liberty to share for the moment. I will when I can. This coming weekend I will make another design for her...I'll post that one Sunday.

Thank you, Rhi, for making my girls and me such LOVELY designs! :)

I've Been Tagged by the Lovely Rhi!!!

My girl, Rhi, tagged me so this is how it goes...

I need to write 10 weird things about myself and then tag 7 people to do the same.
...what?...just 10 weird things?!!!

1. My toes are double-jointed. Sometimes I like to make thumping sounds with them from within my shoe and make people wonder where the sound is coming from...yea, fun times!

2. I thought that my Quantum Physics classes (Undergrad and Grad) were fun (and I actually got "A's").

3. Rhi, we are truly kindred spirits, because I also eat my McDonalds meal in the same order: fries, burger, drink (don't want the fries to get cold and I like to gulp down my drink at the end)

4. I'm a righty, who writes like a lefty with that hook that makes me get pen all over my hand...not to mention smudging my writing.

5. I play minigolf lefty and prefer to hit a baseball lefty, as well.....I'm thinking that I might have been a lefty as a child...

6. I'm horrible with names initially. Someone tells me their name and I immediately forget it.

7. That same person could tell me their birthday and I will remember it FOR LIFE! I remember birthdays of people I haven't talked to in decades or don't even like!

8. When I eat cake, I scrape off the frosting.

9. Sometimes I have so many ideas floating in my head about what I want to scrapbook, that I get overwhelmed and don't do anything.

10. Speaking of overwhelmed...if I'm served too much food on my plate, I lose my appetite.

It's hard to think about weird things about myself when I have to list them!

Whoooo to tag... I choose Janette (waving "hi", girl!), Wendy :), Chris, aka Brennasmommy :), Fran, aka Raggafran :), Jenny Lilac :), Kym :), and Anya :).

Well, this was fun!!! I can't wait to see who plays along and what their facts are. When it all comes down to it, the things that we may think are weird about ourselves, just may be more common than we thought!

My First TOOT ever!!!

OK, it's a mini toot...but it's multiplied by four (5 now :)), so does that make it a full toot? :)

Last night I checked out the Basic Grey website because I've been reading how people have had layouts selected, so I wanted to give it a shot. I submitted 6 layouts. This afternoon I got an e-mail saying that 4 of them were selected! I'm so excited! It's not a printed publication, but it's still pretty cool in my book! Especially since it's from my favorite all-time scrapbooking manufacturer!!!

Check out the ones that made the cut:

Thank you for sharing in my excitement!!! :)

Road Trip!

Yesterday afternoon, my friend Doris and I took a trip to the Berkshires for the weekend. Although only 90 minutes from home, it somehow seems much farther. I never knew how much of a tourist attraction the Great Barrington/Stockbridge MA area was. With all of it's artsy and new age boutiques, it's a bit like Sedona, AZ (just no majestic red rock structures, alas...).

We started off this gorgeous Saturday morning by taking a trip to Stockbridge, past home of Norman Rockwell. The picture shown above is of the Yankee Candle store. We visited country stores, the Red Lion Inn, and the Divine Mercy Shrine of the Marians (pictured below).

We then headed back to Great Barrington to check out all of the fabulous shops there. As we headed back to town, I gazed over to a side street and saw the sign, "Off the Beaded Path" beading and scrapbooking. We burned quite a bit of rubber doing our 360 back there, LOL! Turns out the store had liquidated all of its scrapbooking supplies, but boy did they have GORGEOUS fibers! After spending $57, I am the proud owner of 80 yards of fiber lusciousness!!! And I have NO regrets, because these beauties are hard to come by. See for yourself below!

Of course not EVERY experience was the best...had the worst Indian food ever! Makes us REALLY appreciate our local Indian restaurant! :)

One of the more interesting sights we saw were a series of recycling trash cans on the sidewalks of Great Barrington. Our favorite design was:

Doris and I are looking forward to see what other adventures await us tomorrow!

"Daddy is..."

Today I worked on this week's "How Much is Too Much" (HMITM) challenge posted on 2 Peas. We were asked to use 5 different colors of cardstock (no patterned paper), 5 transparent items, and 5 words to describe the subject of our layout. I knew exactly what I wanted to scrap for this layout...

This past weekend my family and I went to Wildwood, NJ to attend a cheerleading competition in which both daughters participated. Right before a big nor'easter hit, we were fortunate enough to have been able to walk along the beach. Alex ran off to be with her friends, so Samantha, Tom, and I were left to our own devices, LOL! I took these great shots of Tom and Samantha together. I just love the tender expression that Tom is giving Samantha! Just perfect for this layout, which I entitled, "Daddy is..." My husband is such a wonderful father to our two girls. Devoted. Supportive. Loving. Kind. Always there for the girls. We are all so very lucky to have him in our lives.

My very first blog posting!!! :)

Welcome, Amy, to the technological era...a world of blogging!

Well, I've finally done it...I've taken the plunge and started a blog! What will I do with it? I don't know, but I'm excited.

This is going to be a fun ride! :)
